Dr. Natasha Sharma, Psy.D
Founder and Director
Dr. Natasha Sharma is a Clinical Counsellor and non-certified professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She is also an author, speaker, TV/media spokesperson, and doctoral student. Dr. Sharma is the Founder and Clinical Director of NKS Therapy, and the author of The Kindness Journal. She received her Masters degree in psychology from The Johns Hopkins University, and her Doctorate of Psychology degree from California Southern University. Dr. Sharma has over 8 years of clinical experience specializing in the assessment and treatment of a range of cognitive and psychological disorders, and has worked with individuals in the areas of anxiety, depression, relationships/marriage/dating, parenting, ADHD, and cultural issues. She has also conducted over 400 comprehensive psychoeducational, psychovocational, and motor vehicle accident (MVA) assessments.
Yordanka Garmenova, M.Ed., Registered Psychotherapist, Canadian Certified Counsellor
As a clinical therapist, Yordanka exhibits positive regard and genuineness and uses a client-centered approach when working with her clients. She is dedicated to utilizing a variety of therapies and techniques in order to create personalized treatments which fit clients’ complaints, strengths, values, and identities. She is most familiar with mindfulness, cognitive behavioural/dialectical behavioural, and interpersonal approaches. Yordanka is passionate about helping clients identify and utilize their strengths to overcome challenges and mental health issues.
Jennifer Gomez, M.A., OACCPP
Jennifer Gomez is a Clinical Counsellor and researcher with a passion for empowering clients to create fulfilling and meaningful lives for themselves. She received her Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Western Ontario, where she focused on understanding the risk-factors of non-suicidal self-injury. She has worked with children, youth, and adults in clinical, educational, and community settings. Jennifer currently works with clients of all ages on a wide variety of topics, including: anxiety, depression, self-injurious behaviours, relationships, trauma, career, and learning/study skills. As a counsellor, she operates from a strength based, client-centered, and holistic approach that is rooted in compassion, empathy, and mutual respect. Jennifer believes that through self-exploration, clients have the ability to creatively and effectively make positive changes in their lives.
Social Media Manager and Office Administrator
Maria is an undergraduate psychology student at York University. She aspires to be a Psychologist one day, and her exuberance and energy make her a valuable team member at NKS! In the winter, Maria also finds time to be on the slopes where she is a snowboard instructor at Centennial Hill.
